Alice Courter

Alice Florence Imo Stierhoff Courter Alice Florence Imo Stierhoff Courter, age 89, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, and formerly of Raymond, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, in the ER at Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, Kentucky. A longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Alice was formerly employed with the Raymond Post Office and the Raymond IGA. She was a volunteer with Memorial Hospital of Union County and was an especially proud grandma and great-grandma. She was born August 24, 1923, in Peoria to the late Alfred B. and Matilda Kleiber Steirhoff. She married Melvin Hoop Courter on December 15, 1945, and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1988. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (Dave) Rings, Russell Springs, KY; a grandson, Kyle (Heather) Potts, a granddaughter, Christina (Josh) Turner), 4 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Gavin, Gabriel, and Sarah, 2 step-grandsons, Matt and Ben Rings, a step-granddaughter, Tiffany Rings; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Max, Owen, & Brenna Rings, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2012, at 12:00 p.m. at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville. Reverend Barry Scott will officiate and burial will take place at Raymond Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
