Arthur C. Edelblute

Arthur C. Edelblute, just days shy of 100, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Delaware Court Healthcare Center.

A 1941 graduate of Ostrander High School, he was a lifelong dairy and grain farmer. After retiring from the Edelblute Family Farm, he went on to haul livestock with Robert Kurmode and grain farming with Leroy and Rick Cunningham. He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and watching sports, especially the Ohio teams.

Born December 27, 1923 in Ostrander, he was the son of the late E.A. and Cora (Gibson) Edelblute. On September 4, 1946 in Marysville, he married his loving wife of over 75 years, Martha L. (Adelsberger) Edelblute. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2021. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Rob Lind and his brothers, Edwin (Marie) Edelblute and Jack (Kathy) Edelblute.

He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Bob) Coen of Malvern and Janet (Dan) Mason of Johnstown; grandchildren, Mike (Nikki) McCarty, BJ (Claudivan) Ribeiro, Greg Mason, Nick (Jen) Mason and Bethany (Brian) Comisford; several great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Peg Adelsberger of Athens; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to all the nurses and staff at Delaware Court Healthcare Center for their excellent care and support.

Services to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville. Rev. Fr. Kevin Kavanagh will officiate and burial will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.  A luncheon will be held immediately following the graveside service in the Parish Life Center at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice in care of the funeral home.
