Betty Mae Lawrence, 79, of Eaton and formerly of Marysville, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Maple Garden Nursing Facility in Eaton. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt, Betty will be remembered as a sweet and kind person that could make friends in any situation. An avid fisherwoman, she loved to sit on the edge of the lake and listen to the Cincinnati Reds on her transistor radio. She also enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping, crocheting and crafts, and was a top notch bowler, winning many tournaments and receiving numerous pins and patches for her accomplishments in the bowling alley. A 1955 graduate of Wayne-Woodstock High School, she worked in the Respiratory Unit at Memorial Hospital of Union County and later as a dietary manager at Carriage Court. Born November 8, 1937 in Lawrence County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Myrtle (Thompson) Boyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Miranda Grauman. She is survived by a daughter, Theresa (Richard) Louden of Indian Lake; grandchildren, Holly and Sonja; three great grandchildren; sister, Faye Swiger of Piqua; niece and caregiver, Kate (Doug) Barker of St. Paris, a nephew, Tyler (Maryann) Grauman of West Milton and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Reverend Jeremy Stout will officiate and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in North Lewisburg. Friends may call from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
