Cathelene Eller Mercs

Cathelene Eller Mercs, 96, of Columbus, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at Westminster-Thurber in Columbus.

Born December 26, 1928 in Bramwell, WV, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Callie (Pauley) Eller. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mercs, whom she married May 20, 1950; a daughter, Bonnie Evans; and her brothers and sisters, Bannie Goodman, Euna Cannady, Louise Willet, Elizabeth Gunn, Ray Eller, Pearl Cannady, Rick Eller and Billy Eller.

Cathelene is survived by her daughters, Kathy Humphrey and Linda Rajnicek; grandchildren, Darrell Humphrey, Joseph (Andrea) Humphrey, Alana Rajnicek, Kariann (Gene) Lindsey and Chantelle Marcum; and numerous great grandchildren; her sisters, Jackie (Jim) Stewart, Priscilla (James) Crigger, Diane (Bob) Barton and Betty (Billy) Adkins; along with several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Cathelene’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held. Burial will be held privately at the Oakdale Cemetery, next to her husband.
