Curtis J. Berkland, 56, of Marysville died Monday, March 6, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. Growing up, Curt lived in many states, including Colorado, Florida, California, Iowa and Nebraska. He was a graduate of Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, IA and Dana College in Blair, NE where he served as captain of the wrestling team during his senior year. Curt was an assistant manager with American Honda Motor Corporation for over 25 years. An avid gardener, he enjoyed golfing, running and being outdoors in general, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Born February 8, 1961 in Denver, CO, he was the son of Truman and Karen (Bargman) Berkland and they survive in Nebraska. On April 20, 1996 in Santa Fe, NM he married his wife of 20 years, Linda (Rauch) Berkland and she survives in Marysville with their daughters, Haley and Sara Berkland. Also surviving are his brothers, Gene (Kim) Berkland of California, Todd Berkland of Salem, OR, Victor Berkland of Omaha, NE and a sister, Sharon (Bob) Zozaya of Gretna, NE. Curt was preceded in death by his grandparents, twin sisters and a nephew, Braxton. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Friends may call prior to the service from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
