David Cook

David L. Cook, 57, of East Liberty, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. A 1979 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School, Dave worked for many years with Triple C Construction and was a fireman and EMT with Perry Township Fire Department where he also formerly served as chief of the EMS Squad. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, arrowhead hunting, was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He would any and every opportunity to spoil them. Born January 10, 1961 in Bellefontaine, he was the son of Nelson and Carol (Coons) Cook. He was preceded in death by his father and his brothers, Jeffrey Dean and Rod Eugene Cook. On October 26, 1979 in Bellefontaine, he married Margie Queen and she survives in east Liberty. He is also survived by his sons, DJ (Megan) Cook of East Liberty and Dustin (Tiffany) Cook of Bellefontaine; his grandchildren with their nicknames Pappy had given each of them, Kaycee "Stretch" Cook, Lahna "Cuddle Bug" Cook, Mikaylah "Pookie" Cook and Rylan "Clyde" Cook; sister, Teresa (Tim) Rausch of West Mansfield; brothers, Terry (Rhonda) Cook of East Liberty and John "Buddah" (Jennifer) Cook of Marysville, Paige Del Pico whom he considered his adopted daughter; numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends. Friends may call from 3-6 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield with services to follow Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. Pastor Rex Schirm will officiate and burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Universal Hospice in care of the funeral home.
