Doris J. Fields, 85, of Marysville, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Memorial Gables.
A 1956 graduate of Marysville High School, she worked with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, retiring in 2011. She was a member of the Windsor Community Seniors and the Union County Farm Bureau. She loved her flowers, especially her roses and in her free time, she enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, playing Bingo and golf, and going to the Farmer’s Market with her brother.
Born February 18, 1938 at the family home on Wells Rd. in Plain City, she was the daughter of the late Clarence “Bud” and Esther (Fry) Hinderer. On October 27, 1956 in New California, she married her husband of 49 years, Jesse Fields and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2005. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Ruth Hinderer, Alice Pendleton and Stella Hughes; a brother, Donald Hinderer; and her mother and father-in-law, Delbert and Mary Fields.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary K. Thompson of Lewis Center, Joan Coe of Marysville, Hazel Lincoln of Woodstock; a sister-in-law, Edna Hinderer; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Marysville. Chaplain Tom Schwind will officiate and burial will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Windsor Community Seniors.
