Dorothy A. Combs

Dorothy A. Combs, 79, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Walnut Crossing following a brief illness. 

A woman of strong faith, she was a Christian all of her life and loved the Lord. A devoted wife and loving mother and granny, she was happiest when spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, cleaning, reading, gardening and tending to her flowers. She and her husband, Bob, also enjoyed their time spent participating and sharing together at the many car shows they attended over the years. 

Born August 4, 1945 in Wellston, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Katie (Bush) Erwin. On January 6, 1962 in Wellston, she married her husband of 60 years, Robert D. Combs, and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2022. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughters, Brenda Norris and Roberta Moore; a grandson, Jacob Combs; sisters, Connie Musgrave and Laura Vaughan; and a brother, Donald Erwin.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Josh) Carter and Pam (Jerry) Miller, both of Larue; grandchildren, Robert (Kimberly) Drumm, Christopher (Ashley) Drumm, Erica (Terry) Haubiel, Jerry Miller, Travis Rice, Dalton Norris, Lacey (Shawn) Ervin and James Combs; 17 great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; cousin, Nina Nickels of Wellston; a niece, Alisa Musgrave; along with numerous other nieces and nephews. 

Services to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
