Frances D. Worstell, 93, longtime resident of Marysville, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023 at her residence.
A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, she was wonderful homemaker for her family. She cherished her time spent with family, especially her children and grandchildren. A 1948 graduate of Marysville High School, she worked for many years at O.M. Scott’s. An avid sports fan, she loved the L.A. Dodgers. She enjoyed listening to Merle Haggard music, often traveling to take in one of his shows. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and McDonald’s milkshakes. Having a love for cats, it was not uncommon for a stray to find a home at her house. In her younger years, she attended the Congregational Church of Marysville.
Born April 14, 1929 in Point Pleasant, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wm. Henry and Maude (Clonch) Davis. On December 29, 1951 at the church parsonage in Marysville, she married her husband of nearly 70 years, Robert Eugene “Gene” Worstell and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2021. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Clark.
Frances is survived by her sons, Doug Worstell and Jeff (Sherry) Worstell, both of Marysville; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Madge (Bill) Troesch of Marysville; and close friend, Jill Howard; along with her nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In keeping with Frances’ wishes, there will be no calling hours or services held at this time and burial will take place at a later date in Oakdale Cemetery, with her husband, Gene. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
