Franklin D. Rausch, 74, of Indian Lake and formerly of Marysville, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Memorial Gables surrounded by his loving family just 8 days from his 75th birthday. Frank was a veteran of the U.S Army and worked as a back hoe operator with Lester Rausch and Sons for many years. After retiring he loved spending the winters in Ocala, Fl. and his summers at Indian Lake where he was a member of the Indian Lake Moose and Eagles. To say he was an avid fisherman would be an understatement, he loved fishing and also enjoyed hunting, playing cards, shooting pool, throwing darts, playing golf and just about anything he could show his competitiveness. But that did not change what a generous man, loving husband and devoted father and grandfather he was. Born November 25, 1940 in Marysville, he was the son of the late Pearl Edward and Thelma (Meyers) Rausch-Vance. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Thomas and Daniel Rausch. On July 4, 1963, he married the love of his life, Leota (Baldwin) and she survives at Indian Lake. Also surviving are his children, Fred D. Rausch of Broadway, Barb (Brian) Burns of Milford Center and Edward D. (Christina) Rausch of Marysville; grandchildren, Sarah (Brett) Kennedy, Leah and Hannah Burns, Jesse (Haylee) Rausch, Cassidy Rausch, Jarrod Rutan and Michaela Rausch and two great grandchildren, Ares Rausch and Olivia Kennedy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Mannasmith Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Schlueter will officiate and burial will take place at the Broadway Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by the Union County Honor Guard. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Union County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
