George Wayne Brugler George Wayne Brugler, age 76, of West Mansfield died Sunday, December 29, 2013, in the comfort of his own home with his wife and family at his side following an extended illness. A hard-working, capable man, George worked as a John Deere mechanic for many years, including several years with Creviston Implement in West Mansfield, and retired from the Logan County Highway Department. He was a 1956 graduate of Rushsylvania High School and formerly served as fire chief with the Bokescreek Fire Department. George loved to tinker in his shop and could fix anything. He spent many years boating and fishing on Lake Erie and especially enjoyed building and flying remote control airplanes. More than anything, he was a loving husband, a proud father, and a devoted grandpa who will be missed dearly. He was born July 31, 1937, on the family farm at Big Springs to the late Porter L. and Neva H. Zimmerman Brugler. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard L. (Phyllis) Brugler, and 3 sisters, Lorena (John) Elliott, Martha (John) Hilliard, and Donna (Richard) Wagaman. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Susan Jean Cummins Brugler, to whom he was married on June 28, 1959, at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church, by Reverend Bice; his children, David Wayne Brugler, West Mansfield; and Karin Jane Brugler, and her fiancé©, Les B. Murphy, Lawrenceburg, IN; 4 grandchildren, Kyle Brugler, Grant Brugler, Peyton Brugler, and Cole Brugler; a brother-in-law, Tony Cummins, Pasadena, CA; and 15 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield, where friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Reverend Doug Thompson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions be made to the Bokescreek Fire Department.
