Harold L. Grose, 88, of West Mansfield, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the OSU/Wexner Medical Center. A veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, Harold worked as a farmer and later a loader operator with Connolly Construction. He was a member of the West Mansfield United Methodist Church, enjoyed woodworking, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, cooking mush, playing the candy cane game at Christmas time, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Born August 8, 1926, he was the son of the late Emor L. and Glenna Mae (Morris) Grose. On September 14, 1947 in the Church parsonage in Claibourne, he married Shirley (Hamilton) and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Judy (Edward) Culp of West Mansfield, Michael (Todda) Grose, Patt (Jim) Denlinger and Brenda (Allen) Snyder all of Bellefontaine; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild due in the fall; brothers and sisters, Howard (Evelyn) Grose, Donald (Betty Richardson) Grose, Anna Mae (Jack) Hines, Carl (Mary Lou) Grose, Florence Borland, Jim (Connie) Grose, Mary Jane (Harold) Durban, Kenneth (Vi) Grose, Lynn (Mary) Grose, Gail (Gary) Price and numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Paul, Junior, Betty and an infant. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church with Reverend Doug Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the York Cemetery where Military Rites will be observed.
