Hazel Marie O'Brien Hazel Marie O'Brien, age 55, of Marysville died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at her home with her family at her side. She retired as a Master Sargent with the US Air Force following an 18 year career (1976-1994) and was employed with The Scotts Company since 1995, currently serving as a Warehouse Inventory Specialist. Hazel graduated from New London High School in 1975. She enjoyed painting, helping her husband farm, and the companionship of her dogs "Cricket" and "Buddy", and especially enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and the nearby riverboats. She was independent and stubborn at times but always accomplished whatever she set her mind to. Her happiest moments came when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. She was born July 12, 1956, in New London to the late Harry & Bama Kimbler Shuman. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Shuman, and her father-in-law, Henry "Bud" O'Brien. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Ken O'Brien, her daughter, Terri Danielle (Roy) Keckler, Bucyrus; her son, Jonathon O'Brien, Marysville; 3 grandchildren, Kyle Chestnut, Taylor Vigar, and Katie Chestnut; her 2 sisters, Ruth Hinojosa, Norwalk; and Virginia Stewart, Medina; her mother-in-law, Joann O'Brien, Marysville; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sis Cooper, Fremont; Nola (Rick) Phillips, Shreveport, LA; Peggy (Don) Weitzenecker, Marysville; Loree Scott, Marysville; Jolane (Steve) Paver, Phoenix, AZ; Mark (Teresa) O'Brien, East Liberty; and Andy Scott, Marysville; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
