Helene Volkert, 95, of Marysville, passed away Monday evening at Walnut Crossing Assisted Living.
Born March 1, 1924 in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Pauline (Sanetskye) Kuhn. She married Fritz Volkert and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2005. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, York and Yosel Kuhn and her sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Robert Fouty.
She formerly worked for the Whitehall Store and later for Schuman's Butcher Store. She took great pride in caring for her dogs over the years.
Helene is survived by her nieces, Karen (William) Barrett of Marysville and Barbara (James) Aberegg of Dublin, along with several great nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Pastor Barry Scott will officiate and burial will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery in Columbus with her husband.
