Jackson Clyde Braithwaite, Sr. Jackson Clyde Braithwaite, Sr., affectionately known as "Big Jack, age 77, of Richwood died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at OSU Medical Center due to complications from suffering a fall one week ago. He was employed 40 years with AEP Electric (formerly Columbus-Southern Ohio Electric) and retired as a supervisor. He loved farming and raising livestock and treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as loving, gentle man who filled the lives of his family with much laughter and happiness. He was born July 17, 1935, in Mansfield to the late J. Clyde and Agnes Eardean Larcom Braithwaite. He married Naomi Ruth Miller on February 8, 1958, and she preceded him in death on August 10, 2006. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Thompson. Survivors include his children, Jackson Clyde (Carrie) Braithwaite, Jr., Richwood; Kelly (Darrell) Martin, Bellefontaine; Tracy (Butch) Thompson, Broadway; and Vergene "Genie" (Kelly S.) Braithwaite, Columbus; 4 grandchildren, Zach Braithwaite, Megan (Jeremy Jenkins) Coffey, Betsy (JT) Trouten, and Travis Martin; 4 great-grandchildren, Faith, Noah, Dexter, & Olivia; his sister, Vergene Horie, Lancaster, PA; and many friends and neighbors. Pastor Jerry McQueen of Living Hope Church will celebrate a memorial service on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service and are invited to Tracy's home for a funeral luncheon immediately following the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Broadway Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in support of his daughter's fundraising efforts.
