Jeffrey Clint Young, 65, of West Mansfield, formerly of Vadnais Heights, MN, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus following medical complications from frontotemporal dementia.
A devoted and loving husband, father, and “Pop” (grandfather), Jeff loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Together, they enjoyed golfing, watching movies, listening to music, and playing games. He formerly attended St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church in White Bear Lake, MN. Jeff was an avid cyclist and took any opportunity to ride the trails and admire the scenery. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with cars, bikes, and electronics. He loved problem solving of any kind, which would include any self-teaching necessary, as well as keeping up with all the latest technology. After earning his Associate’s Degree from Hawkeye Tech in Cedar Falls, IA, he worked as a computer hardware engineer for many years, with several companies, such as Unisys, Lucent Technologies, and Seagate Technologies.
Born May 26, 1957, in Cedar Falls, IA, Jeff was the son of the late John and Audrey (Sanders) Young.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Holly Comer Young of West Mansfield, who he married on July 1, 1989, in Cedar Falls, IA. He is also survived by their son, Tyler Jeffrey (Kristie) Young of Chesterton, IN; a granddaughter, Nora; twin brothers Craig (Cindy) Young of Villarrica, Paraguay, and Chris (Beth) Young of Aurora, IL; sisters, Judy (Marty McGuire) Dugan of Johnston, IA and Tracy (Nicky Becicka) Young of Coralville, IA; nieces and nephews: Erika, Sean, Sara, Taylor, and Nicky; and mother-in-law, Nira Graham, of West Mansfield.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church. Pastor John Rozewicz will officiate and burial will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Arrangements are being handled for the family by Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel in West Mansfield.
