Jerry L. Brown Jerry L. Brown, 73, of Marysville, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the O.S.U./Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Marysville High School where he excelled in football and basketball. He was a full/linebacker in football and a member of the 1957 undefeated team. After high school, he served from 1959-1963 as a seamen in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Diamond Head during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired in 1996 as superintendent from ODOT after working there 25 years. Jerry was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3320 and a member of the American Legion Post 0079. He loved fishing, watching NASCAR, was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns and enjoyed visits with his grandchildren. Born July 30, 1941 in Marysville, he was the son of the late Paul and Leota (Fox) Brown. Together in life for 42 years, he is survived by his wife, Patricia, whom he married December 19, 1987 in Marysville. Also surviving are his children, Vicky (Charles) Morris, Brian Brown and Christy (Mike) Jackson; grandchildren, Starla (Zach) Alexander, Derek McWilliams, McKenna Brown, Zach Heminger and Drew, Fox and Hunter Jackson; great grandchildren, Alexis and Gage Riley, DeLani Alexander and Braeleigh Jackson and sisters, Sally Orahood and Vicki Spain. There will be no calling hours or services observed and burial will take place at a later date in the Oakdale Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Mannasmith Funeral Home.
