Joan York, 81, of Marysville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her residence.
A loving homemaker, Joan was a very strong woman in life and most certainly in her faith. She attended both Grace Baptist Church in Delaware and Bible Baptist Church in Marysville. She was very active with the church and with her church family. She loved crocheting. Her love was like no other, she never knew a stranger and she saw the good in everyone. She loved reading and studying the Bible cover to cover then starting all over again. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and always looked forward to her weekly visits with her sisters.
Born October 26, 1939 in Danville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Daisy (Davis) Whitfield. On June 2, 1959 in Plain City, she married Paul E. York and he preceded her in death in 1980. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Samantha Marshall.
Joan is survived by her children, Virginia, Paul, Jr., George, Pam, Jeff and Charles; grandchildren, Robbie, Blake, Steele, Dustin and great grandchildren; sisters, Cindy and Doris; brothers, Jack and Jerry, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
