JoAnn O'Brien

JoAnn A. O'Brien, 84, of Marysville, died early Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Carriage Court of Marysville. Born April 13, 1932 in Marysville, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Herd) Woerlein. On September 20, 1951 in Richmond, IN she married Henry E. "Bud" O'Brien and he preceded her in death on October 9, 2002. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Weitzenecker; a brother, George Woerlein and a daughter-in-law, Hazel O'Brien. A 1950 graduate of Marysville High School, JoAnn worked at Bell Telephone for 10 years and in the produce department with Kroger's for 23 years, retiring in 1992. She loved to travel, was a lifetime and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and cherished her family. Surviving are her children, Nola (Richard) Phillips of Karnack, TX, Loree Scott of Marysville, Jolene (Steve) O'Brien-Paver of Mt. Olive Township, NJ, Kenneth O'Brien of Marysville and Mark (Teresa) O'Brien of Zanesfield; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Fred (Mary) Woerlein of Marion; a sister-inlaw, Wilma Woerlein of Tarpon Springs, FL and a son-in-law, Don Weitzenecker of Marysville. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Reverend Barry Scott will officiate and burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. prior to the service on Friday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
