Joyce A. Bushong

Joyce A. Bushong, 76, of West Liberty, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024 at her residence following a brief illness. 

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she certainly considered her family her greatest accomplishment. She cherished her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her love of children was never more evident than during her many years of providing in home daycare. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing bingo and watching movies. Joyce loved to shop, especially the shopping trips to Holmes County with Paula and she loved to vacation with Annette at her Florida home.

Born March 24, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James McCreary and Virginia (Forsythe) Stanford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy and Joseph McCreary. 

On July 10, 1965 in East Liberty, she married her husband of over 59 years, Dan Bushong, and he survives in West Liberty. She is also survived by her daughters, Paula (Don) Magee of West Liberty and Annette (Dale) Teel of Fort Wright, KY; grandchildren, Lacey (Mike) Cessna, Larissa Adams, Josh (Caitlin) Runion, Chelsie (Cody) Walter, Brooke (Brandon) Conklin and Aimee (Dustin) Mercer; great grandchildren, Bella, Ava, Haven, Blakely, Harper, Xavier, Jenora and Beckham; brothers, Jeff McCreary and John (Lori) McCreary, both of Marysville; a sister-in-law, Vera McCreary of East Liberty; along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

Services to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Pastor Mike Phillips will officiate and burial will take place at a later date in the Milford Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
