Kenneth O. O’Brien, 69, of Marysville, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
A 1973 graduate of Marysville High School, he retired as a Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years. He later worked in maintenance at Scott’s for nearly 20 years, however his true love was farming, which he had done nearly all of his life. In his younger years, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and drag racing.
Born September 20, 1954 in Marysville, he was the son of the late Henry and JoAnn (Woerlein) O’Brien. On September 3, 2011, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Hazel (Shuman) O’Brien; and a sister, Peggy Weitzenecker.
Ken is survived by his son, Jonathan O’Brien of Marysville; a daughter, Terri (Roy) Keckler of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Kyle (Cheynne) Chestnut and Kaitlynn (Nathan) McAdams; great grandchildren, Hazel, Ezekiel and Kenni; brothers and sisters, Mark (Teresa) O’Brien of Zanesfield, Nola Barton of Louisiana, Loree Scott of Marysville, Jolene (Steve) Paver of Georgia and Andy Scott of Marysville; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
