Leonard E. Belville, 92, of Delaware, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at Danbury- Westerville, Parkside Village, with his wife and children by his side.
Leonard was employed as a project engineer for 30 years with Westreco before his retirement in 1990. He was a faithful, active member and elder of the Delaware Church of Christ. Leonard was a 1948 graduate of Marysville High School and attended Ohio State University for two years. He served his country in the United States Air Force from January of 1951- December of 1954 and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. Leonard was a member of the Delaware Community Chorus and found great enjoyment in woodworking and camping throughout many neighboring states. His greatest joy came when surrounded by his family.
He was born December 26, 1930, in Marysville to the late Pearl and Elsie (Simkins) Belville.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lucille (Huey) Belville, to whom he was married on November 10, 1956, at the Marysville Church of Christ. His children, Stephen (Susan) Belville of Cardington, Bryan (Laurie) Belville of Marysville and Deborah (Ken) Nichols of Westerville; 11 grandchildren, Bradley Belville, Candice (Dean) Kearsh, Benjamin (Chelsea) Nichols, Heather (Ed) Nolan, Jillian (Jesse) Bryant, Caitlin (Gary) Duncan, Brittany (Rob) Phillips, Alyssa (Andy) Walton, Emmanuel Belville, Zion Belville, and Anaya Belville; as well as 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Belville of Dublin; a sister, MaryLou Sabins of Urbana and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to say a special “Thank You” to staff and residents at The Inn at Bear Trail, Capital City Hospice team and Danbury Parkside Village-Westerville for the beautiful care that you gave our dad during this difficult time. Many have said, “your Dad makes us laugh!”
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Old Union Church of Christ 19980 Raymond Rd, Marysville. Tom Muetter will officiate and burial with full military honors conducted by the Air Force Honor Guard and the Union County Honor Guard will take place at the Old Union Church of Christ Cemetery on Raymond Road near Marysville. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home 621 W. Fifth St, Marysville and also from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church.
