Lorna Owen

Lorna J. Owen Lorna J. Owen, age 63, of Marysville died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, with her daughter's at her side at the OSU Wexner Medical Center from complications associated with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was a longtime cook at Hermie's Home Restaurant and worked as a custodian at Eagles Aerie #3506. She was an active member of Eagles Aerie #3506 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, watching her grandchildren play ball and especially enjoyed taking special road trips to Talladega, Alabama, with her daughters. She treasured time spent with her family and was especially delighted to be known as "GG" by her great-grandchildren. She was born January 18, 1949, in Kenton to the late Jacob R. and Frances Elizabeth Johnson Sarver. She married James L. Miller in 1963, and he preceded her in death in 1966. She then married John D. Owen on June 3, 1969, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Rognon, 2 sons-in-law, Eric Giles and Charles Rognon, her mother-in-law, Veneza Owen, 2 sisters, Donna Belle Hamilton and Mary Rister, a brother, Donald Sarver, and 2 infant sisters, Mary Kathryn and Frances Elizabeth. Survivors include her devoted daughters, Barb Miller and her friend, Dave Gilliland, Betty Giles and her friend, Dean Sherman, and Lora Owen and her friend, Bill Eppich, all of Marysville; 8 grandchildren, Darin Rognon, Christy Rognon, David Giles, Tiffany (Lucas) Grimes, Bridget Giles and her special friend, Steven Nelson, Victoria Long, Erica Burkard, and Todd Burkard; 3 great-grandchildren, Emmalina Rognon, Lori Grimes, and Mason Jordan; 2 sisters, Winifred Shreve, Bellefontaine; and Elaine Thompson, Marysville; 2 brothers, William (Donna) Sarver, Broadway; and Jake (Sue) Sarver, Richwood; her father-in-law, C.B. Owen, Talladega, AL; a sister-in-law, Pat (John) McDonald, Talladega, AL; a brother-in-law, Billy Hamilton, Marysville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be held Friday, June 29, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville. Paul Reynolds will officiate and burial will take place at Raymond Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be Jay W. McDonald, Terry Jones, John Rister, Randy Jennings, Kenny Feasel, and Alva Oren.
