Margie J. Cook, 62, of Kenton and formerly of East Liberty, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Lima Memorial Hospital following several months of failing health.

Margie worked as an EMT chief with the Perry Township Fire Department for over 20 years. She enjoyed riding around town in her golf cart and visiting friends, fishing, mushroom hunting and camping. Her greatest joy came from being MeMaw and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Born March 29, 1962 in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late John and Christine (Johnson) Queen. On October 26, 1979 in Bellefontaine, she married her husband of over 39 years, David L. Cook, and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2018. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Renee “Snook” Frazier and Linda Opphile; and her brothers, Carol Queen and John “Blue” Queen, III.

She is survived by her sons, DJ (Megan) Cook of East Liberty and Dustin (Tiffany) Cook of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Kaycee, Lahna, Mikaylah and Rylan Cook; sisters, Loretta (Rex) Schirm of Shadyside, Ruth Smith of Bellefontaine and Becky (Bill) Baker of N. Lewisburg; brothers, Dan (Grace) Queen of Rushsylvania and Paul Queen of Washington Courthouse; a sister-in-law; Teresa (Tim) Rausch of West Mansfield; brothers-in-law, Terry (Rhonda) Cook of East Liberty and John “Buddah” (Jennifer) Cook of Marysville; her companion, Daryl Collins of Kenton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved fur-baby, Sassy. 

Services to celebrate Margie’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Burial will follow at the East Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday beginning at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
