Marie V. Schnurrenberger, 92, passed unexpectedly Saturday December 18, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John N. Schnurrenberger.
Born October 14, 1929 in Newport, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Yolanda (Cappelletti) Iantoni. She is survived by her children, Linda (John) Soughan of Millburn, NJ, John A. Schnurrenberger of Dallas, TX and Susan (Ronald) Ridge of West Mansfield; grandchildren John P. Soughan of New York, NY, Katherine Soughan of Millburn, NJ, Sydney Schnurrenberger of Los Angeles, CA, Sofia Schnurrenberger of Dallas, TX, Nicolas Ridge of Columbus, OH and Madison Ridge of West Mansfield; step grandchildren Ryan (Melanie Havens) Ridge of Bellefontaine, Colin (Taylor) Ridge of West Mansfield, Dylan (Stephanie Luczkowski) Ridge of New Albany; step great grandchildren Mason, Kamryn, Ivy, Briar, Bennett and Miles. A brother, Robert (Judy) Iantoni, preceded her in death.
Marie was a graduate of Vesper George School of Art in Boston, MA. Following graduation, she worked for Barbizon in New York, NY doing design work. She and John met in Newport, RI while he was an officer in the United States Navy. John and Marie eventually settled and raised their family in West Mansfield where they owned and operated the Schnurrenberger Funeral Home for 25 years.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to being an awesome cook and pie maker, she was an accomplished seamstress whose artistic talent shone through in the many costumes and clothes she made for her family. She was a faithful member of the West Mansfield United Methodist Church and a long time member of the Silver Circle of King’s Daughters. She will be remembered as a sweet, loving and kind person by all who knew her.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 24, 2021 at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church 212 E. Center St. West Mansfield. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 11:00 A.M. Friday on the funeral home Facebook page, Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel. Pastor John Rozewicz and Pastor Doug Thompson will officiate and burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery.
