Mark B. Gleckler of Marysville and formerly of Salem, OH, died unexpectedly at his home January 31, 2021. Mark was born January 13, 1960 in Salem, OH, the son of Donald and Lois (Allmon) Gleckler. Mark was a 1978 graduate of Salem Senior High School, Salem, OH and a graduate of Columbus State, OH.
Mark was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving his country while stationed in the Netherlands and California. Mark was last employed by Honeywell SensoTec in Columbus. He was an avid car enthusiast since overhauling a Firebird with his father as a teenager. Mark was a member of the Ohio Valley Region Sports Car Club of America auto crossing Miatas. He also assisted his daughters in racing go-carts. Mark drove and displayed his 1969 convertible Chevrolet Impala at many of the local car shows. He thoroughly enjoyed tinkering with a multitude of cars and tractors. For many years, Mark and his wife, Joyce, had refinished and sold antique furniture. Later Mark honed his skills of turning wood for bowls, cutting boards, pens and other projects for sale. In his younger years, he was in Boy Scouts of America where he achieved Eagle Scout. He enjoyed still being active in scouting with his grandson.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Gleckler, December 26, 1998 and a sister, Sheryl Gleckler-Duerring, January 24, 2003.
Mark is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Joyce (Froman) whom he married June 8, 2005; his mother Lois (Robert) Gleckler-Mang of Port Charlotte FL; daughters, Meagan (William) Ambacher of Vista, CA and Hannah Gleckler of Fayetteville, Ga; a stepson, Drew (Kristen) Reed of Monroe, OH; grandchildren, Daniel Hallock of Marysville,OH, Mackenzie and Jayce Ambacher of CA and Daxton Reed of Monroe, OH; a sister, Catherine (Michael) Hubbs of Marathon, FL; nephews, Matthew and Mitchell Hubbs and many cousins.
A celebration of life service is being planned and burial will be held at a later date in the Columbiana Cemetery in Columbiana, OH.
