Mary Barnette

Mary F. Barnette, 89, of Marysville, passed away peacefully Friday, May 22, 2020 at her residence.
A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, Mary enjoyed working puzzles, collecting antiques and reading history and archeology, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. Keeping close with both those living near and far.
She was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Dublin and retired from the former General Accident Insurance Company where she worked as an underwriter's assistant.
Born November 14, 1930 in Drill, VA, she was the daughter of the late Dillard and Vivian (May) Chambers. She married Benny T. Barnette in Virginia and he preceded her in death in 1978. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Settle and her brothers, Edward and Dick Chambers.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan "Mick" (Jim) Knisley of Catawba Island; a son, James "Ron" (Lisa) Barnette of Marysville; grandchildren, Carla Rogers, Ben (Jessica) Rogers, Laura (Jason) Leach and Alison Barnette; a great grandson, Carson; a sister, Dorothy Perkins and her brothers, Bill and Paul Chambers along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, no calling hours will be held and she will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Green Hills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA.
