Mary Jane “Janie” Carpenter, 70, of West Mansfield, is now in the presence of her Savior, Christ Jesus, son of the Living God. She entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, October 5, 2024 following a courageous, hard fought battle with cancer.
A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister, she enjoyed traveling with her close friends and loved watching sunrises. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She took every opportunity to attend one of their activities or sporting events and definitely spoil them. A woman of deep faith, she was a member of the Rushsylvania Church of Christ where she was active in the prayer and bible study groups.
A 1972 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School, she also went on to earn a business degree from Clark State Community College in Springfield. Janie worked at AGC Glass for 25 years.
Born December 4,1953 in Corona, CA. she was the daughter of the late Ray T. Ballinger and Donna D. (Smith) Ballinger. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda R. (Ballinger) Gross.
On October 28, 1972 at the West Mansfield Church of Christ, she married her husband of nearly 52 years, Donald Carpenter, and he survives in West Mansfield. She is also survived by her sons, Craig (Beverly) Carpenter of Murfreesboro, TN. Chad (Ann) Carpenter of Bellefontaine and Cole (Megan) Carpenter of Rushsylvania; grandchildren, Cody, Evan, Elliot, Eli, Emarie, Ethan, Emerson, Ella and Everett Carpenter; step grandchildren, Dwain and Michele Edwards; a step great granddaughter, Kinsley Edwards; a brother, Lee (Sheila) Ballinger of West Mansfield; and her sister, Debbie (Russell) Lorentz of Belle Center.
Janie wanted to give a special “Thank You” to her praying Bible Study ladies and all of the other countless family and friends who have lifted her up during her earthly life.
