Mary Jo King-Gallogly

Mary Jo King-Gallogly, 60, of Marengo, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 5, 2022 at her residence following a courageous, hard fought two year battle with cancer.

Growing up on the family farm, she developed a hard work ethic by working on a farm nearly all of her life. A 1980 graduate of Fairbanks High School, she went to earn her Veterinarian Technicians degree from CTI in Columbus. Having a deep love of animals and a passion to care for them, she worked as a registered vet technician with the Powell Veterinary Clinic. She also worked at O.S.U. as the small animal surgery manager and the Columbus Zoo where she was Instrumental in setting up the animal hospital. After retiring from the zoo, she cultivated her love of flowers by owning and operating a greenhouse along with her husband.  

Born June 8, 1962 in Marysville, she was the daughter of the late Gene Edward and Miriam Lydia Frieda (Vollrath) King.

On August 9, 2008 on the family farm, she married her husband of over 14 years, Shad Gallogly and he survives in Marengo. She is also survived by a brother, Bill King of Marysville; her 4-pawed children, Petunia, Ruby, Diesel and Sy; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville. The family will also receive friends beginning at 12:30 P.M. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville where Lewis Brenneman will officiate a graveside service at 1:00 P.M. A luncheon will be held for the family and friends at the Cardinal Center Banquet Room 616 State Route 61, Marengo, OH immediately following the graveside service. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help with the unexpected expenses. Contributions can be sent to Wilson Funeral Home 621 W.
