Mary J. McKinley, 84, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Memorial Gables following a brief illness.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she worked as a private duty nurse for many years and most recently at Wal-Mart in Marysville. A proud member of the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed shopping, eating at Bob Evan’s, playing scratch-off lottery tickets and canasta, and spoiling any child she could, especially her grandchildren.
Born December 18, 1938 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Mina (Webb) Appleby. On July 22, 2000 in Marysville, she married her husband of over 18 years, Gary F. McKinley and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2018. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Gauchat; a son, John O’Hara; her sisters, Grace Adams and Yvonne Skalsky; and a brother, Harold Appleby.
Mary is survived by their children, Pam O’Hara of Pittsburg, CA, Jerry (Rachel) Gauchat of Gilbert, AZ, Roxanne (Carl) Lowe of Marysville, Eric (Christine) McKinley of Panama City, FL and LeAnn McKinley Johnson of Marysville; grandchildren, Brandi Williams, Goodie Goodlow, Cristy (Buck) Williams, Michael Gauchat, Brenna and Milena Gauchat, Brady and Hailey Lowe, Jonathan O’Hara, Jr, Trevor (Abigail McIntosh) and Tyler Waugh, Derik (fiancé, Ashley Gilbert) Jolliff, Jacob Strait and Keith Schlotterback; great grandchildren, Jordan, Gabriella and Carter Wall, Raeleigh Gunter, Gage and Paige Thompson and Piper Jolliff; a sister, Ruth Bowers of West Mifflin, PA; dear friends, Dave and Vanessa Crisp; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 P.M. in the Claibourne Cemetery.
