Mary Schnees

October 30, 1931 — November 14, 2018

Mary Lou Schnees, 87, of Milford Center, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a short illness. A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and watching the Hallmark Channel. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State football team and always enjoyed watching and cheering for her Buckeyes. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marysville. A Milford Center resident all of her life, she lived on the same street where she grew up. She was a 1948 graduate of Union Rural High School. She first went to work for W.W. Williams in Columbus and then to Wright Brothers before going to Geupel Construction where she eventually retired after 30 years. Born October 30, 1931 in Milford Center, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Sara Gertrude (Hefner) Brown, Sr. On September 6, 1956, she married her husband of 35 years, Harold A. Schnees, Jr. and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1991. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Evelyn (Lester) Robinson, Sterling Brown, Norman (Norma Jean) Brown, Elnora Grove, Myrtle Ashcraft, Gladys Brown and Walter Brown, Jr. Surviving are her children, Debra (Fred) Rose of North Lewisburg, Danny (Donna) Schnees, Dennis (Barbi) Schnees and Scott (Janee) Schnees all of Milford Center; grandchildren, Tracy (Chris) Turner of Mechanicsburg, Zackery Deskins of Columbus and Alan Schnees of Milford Center; a great grandchild, Leona Deskins; a sister-in-law, Patti Brown of Hilliard; close nephews, Roger (Sandy) Grove and Brad Love both of Georgia; many other dear nieces and nephews and her faithful companion she loved dearly, Molly. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel where funeral services will be held 10:30 Saturday. Burial will follow at Union Township Cemetery, Milford Center.
