Mauna Louise Jacks Pullins Mauna Louise Jacks Pullins, age 92, of Marysville died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at The Gables at Green Pastures following a three week illness. She retired as Postmaster of the Irwin Post Office following a 22 year career. A member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church in Irwin, Mauna was a dedicated volunteer with Memorial Hospital of Union County and Community Meals and just last week was presented a certificate honoring her 6,327 volunteer hours and 20 years of service. She enjoyed travelling, crocheting and quilting and made many beautiful paintings on china that her family now cherishes more than ever. She was a beloved mother and was adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born August 27, 1919, in Sabina, to the late Luther and Mary Grear Jacks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Pullins, a sister, and 3 brothers. Survivors include her sons, Lawrence E. "Ed" (Donnalee "Dee") Pullins, Winter Haven, FL; and Robert W. (Charlene) Pullins, St. Paris; 6 grandchildren, Lawrence "Larry" (Wendy) Pullins, Philip Pullins, Therasa Pullins, SherieLee (Ray) Butte, Stefanie Pullins, and Jordan Pullins; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 2 sisters, Martha Brooks and Ruth Wilcoxon, each of Urbana; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012, at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville, where the funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Reverend Joe Rhea and Reverend Penny Stacy will officiate and burial will take place Union Township Cemetery, Milford Center. A luncheon reception will be held at the Milford Center United Methodist Church immediately following the burial.
