Patricia L. Downing

Patricia L. Downing, 85, of Ostrander, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Brookdale Pinnacle in Grove City.

A loving mother, grandmother and “gigi,” she enjoyed gardening, square dancing, and crocheting. She was also a gifted seamstress, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Gigi always tried to make it to all of their activities.

A 1957 graduate of Northwestern High School, she worked at Nestle, Chanell and Sears over the years.

Born May 24, 1939 in Richwood, she was the daughter of the late Dwight V. and Helen Eulaila (Jolliff) Shirk. On October 20, 1957 in Indiana, she married her loving husband of over 57 years, Glenn K. Downing, Jr. and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2015. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant sister.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Brenda Smart of Grove City and Nancy Jo (Vicki Panton) Downing of Mt. Holly, NC; granddaughters, Glenda (Leon) Jiminez and Lori (Bud) Jones; great grandchildren, Eve and Jade Julien, Xavier Jiminez and Ally and Natalie Jones; and a brother, John (Deborah) Jolliff of Marysville.

Services to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville. Pastor Wayne Downing will officiate and burial will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, March 10, 2025 at the funeral home.
