Paul Augustus Rinehart, 47, of East Liberty, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, following a short but hard fought battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
A loving husband, father, son and brother, Paul was a partial owner of TRE Truck Repair in Plain City. He was accomplished and well-known for diagnosing diesel motors with micro-processing control modules. He was an active member of AIITCO (American Indian Inter-Tribal, Cultural Organization) based out of Rockville MD. Paul was an Adopted member of the Nause-Waiwash Band of Indians based out of Cambridge, Maryland. He spent his early 20’s singing with the Drum Eagle Rock Singers. He was a Native American Grass Dancer, and an assistant leader with his daughter’s Cub Scout Troop #101. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop #453 while growing up. With a talent for music, he enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo and the mandolin. An avid fan of the Washington Redskins, he also enjoyed playing golf and fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his daughter, nieces and nephews.
Born November 17, 1977 in Annapolis, MD, he is the son of James W. and Cecelia (Nacke) Rinehart, and they survive in Mayo, MD. On July 4, 2015 on Beverly Beach in Mayo, MD, he married Melissa Barthel in a service conducted by his twin brother, and she survives in East Liberty. He is also survived by his daughter, Elsie Rinehart; a brother, James E. Rinehart of Mayo, MD, his twin brother, Joshua (Christina) Rinehart of Mayo, MD and sister, Melissa (Jeffrey) Beans of Shady Side, MD; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
In keeping with Paul’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. A celebration of his life is being planned and will be held at a later date.
