Ralph L. Rister, 82, of Marysville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 26, 1938 near Milford Center, he was the son of the late William Brady, Sr and Golden Edna Rister. On April 24, 1976 he married his wife of over 38 years, Karen Sue (Wilson) Rister and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2014. In addition to wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Ralph served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1960. He worked as a dock foreman with Commercial Motor Freight in Indiana for nearly 25 years. Moving on to his true calling, he then worked as a dairy farmer for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing in his free time, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Rister of Fayetteville, NC, Dan (Diana) Rister of North Lewisburg and John (Sherri) Rister of Delaware; grandchildren, Josh, Trish, Emily and Ashley Rister, Amber Weaver, and Jessica and Tyler Rister; great grandchildren, Alora, Hayden, Tatum, Declan and Demetrius; a brother, Harold "Dick" Rister of Fairborn; a sister, Rose Adkins of Marysville and his companion, Phyllis White of Marysville.
Friends may call from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday in the Mitchell Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Meyers officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Union County Honor Guard. Covid precautions will be observed at the funeral home and cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Loving Care Hospice or Memorial Mobile Meals.
