Rex Allen McKinley, 77, of Zanesfield, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his residence.
A graduate of Richwood High School, Rex went on to serve his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He worked as a linesman with United Telephone/Sprint for over 34 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and adored his dogs over the years, including his current fur-baby, Jo-Jo.
Born November 19, 1944 in Richwood, he was the son of the late Frank and Pauline (Jerew) McKinley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary McKinley.
In 1997, he married his wife of 25 years, Phyllis (Thompson) McKinley and she survives in Zanesfield. He is also survived by his sons, Russ (Lori) McKinley and Clint McKinley, both of Richwood; stepsons, Dennis (Geanna) England of Roundhead and Darren (Kelly) England of Ashtabula; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Diane Johnson of Marysville and a sister-in-law, Mary McKinley of Marysville.
In keeping with Rex’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield is assisting the family.
