Ronald Wietelmann

Ronald E. Wietelmann, 85, of Marysville, died peacefully Wednesday at Bluebird of Marysville after many months of failing health.
A devoted husband and loving father, he truly cherished his time spent with his family. An avid golfer and bridge player, he also loved to read and watch sports, especially O.S.U. football and basketball. A man of deep faith, he was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was active in the church, the choir and served on the Trinity Lutheran School Board as President. He also served as past president of the Marysville Lion's Club, the Marysville Chamber of Commerce, volunteered with Memorial Mobile Meals and was a member of the Vanderbilt Country Club in Naples, FL where he and Anne would spend many winters. He and Anne also loved to travel, enjoying their trips to the Greek Isles, Athens, Greece and Rome, Italy.
A 1952 graduate of Highland High School in Albuquerque, NM, he went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Capital University and one in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon. He worked at Scott's for 35 years where he served as a chemical engineer, Director of Chemical and Engineering Research and Director of Manufacturing before retiring in October of 1993.
Born April 12, 1934 in Struthers, OH, he was the son of the late Frank K. and Jesse M. (Maneely) Wietelmann. On June 24, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church, he married the love of his life, Anna (McClain) Wietelmann and she survives in Marysville. He is also survived by a son, Mark (Carol) Wietelmann of Marysville; daughters, Lisa (Jack) Grizzell of Highland, CA and Kristi (Mike) Weaver of Centerville; grandchildren, Sara (Kyle) Thorp, Joshua and Jonah Grizzell and Jacob and Adam Weaver; sisters, Vivian Koch of Lima and Geraldine McCutchan of Albuquerque, NM a sister-in-law, Phyllis Wietelmann, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Rev, Robert L. Wietelmann; and brothers-in-law, Lee Simmons and Mel McCutchan.
Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church where funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Dr. David Moreland and Rev. Barry Scott will officiate and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School or Heartland Hospice and envelopes will be available at the church.
