Shirley E. Garvin, 85, of Bellefontaine, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Bokescreek Local High School. She went on to earn degrees from the Columbus Business College and Bob Jones University. Shirley worked in administrative sales with Sears and accounting with the State of Ohio.
A former member of the Northwest Bible Church in Hilliard, she enjoyed visiting various church groups. She was also a very active volunteer of Relay for Life.
Shirley was a 25 year cancer survivor.
Born August 9, 1936 in Harper, she was the eldest daughter of John L. and Beula
(Rogers) Garvin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, June Garvin; a brother, Robert L. (Bob); a sister-in-law Shirley Ann Garvin, and a brother-in-law, Edwin Green.
She is survived by her brothers, John R. Garvin of Dublin, J. Ronald (Rebeca) Garvin of Naples, FL, Philip D. Garvin of Dublin; sisters, Anita Green of Bellefontaine and Kathleen of Dublin, Step-mother, Ruth D. Garvin of Bellefontaine and sisters-in-law Marilyn of Columbus and Carmel (Robert) Garvin of Hilliard; 13 nieces and nephews and 26 great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Pastor Jeff Willetts will officiate and burial will be held at the North Greenfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
