Shirley Grose

Shirley J. Grose, 90, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019. She was previously a long time resident of West Mansfield but resided the past few years the Bluebird Retirement Community in Marysville.
Born June 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Willard W. and Jessie Myrtle (Carmean) Hamilton. The youngest of ten children, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Glen, George and Dale, and five sisters, Vivian, Dorothy, Alma, Edna and Mabel. On September 14, 1947, at the church parsonage in Claibourne, she married her husband of 67 years, Harold L. Grose and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2015.
Surviving are her children, Judy (Ed) Culp of Marysville, Mike (Todda) Grose of Dublin, Patti (Jim) Denlinger of Delaware and Brenda (Allen) Snyder of Bellefontaine; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley retired from Garvin's IGA in West Mansfield. She was a member of the West Mansfield United Methodist Church and a past member of the Silver Circle of Kings Daughters. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, playing bingo and watching the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes Football and Basketball teams. She thrived while living at the Bluebird from the loving care of the staff and residents whom she loved as family. She enjoyed the Monday Morning Bible Study and the bi-weekly Sunday services from Living Hope Church. The family would like to thank everyone who helped Mom live life to the fullest in her final years.
Friends may call from 11:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church where the funeral service be held at2:00 P.M. Reverend Doug Thompson will officiate and burial will follow at the York Cemetery in York Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the West Mansfield United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield and condolences may be sent to www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
