Thelma L. Harper

Thelma L. Harper, 85, of Raymond, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at Memorial Hospital of Union County following months of failing health.

A graduate of Jackson High School, she worked with Battelle, the License Bureau in Marysville, Jack Scott Nationwide Insurance most recently with the Board of Elections in Union County. She also attended the Raymond Methodist Church for many years.

Born January 29, 1938 in Jackson, she was the daughter of the late Elba and Geraldine (Yerian) Ross. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ida, Helen and Carol; and her brothers, Carl, Paul and Larry.

On June 13, 1958 in Marysville, she married her husband of nearly 65 years, David W. Harper, and he survives in Raymond. She is also survived by her daughter, Ellen (Randy) Johnson of Raymond; son, Mark Harper of Marysville; grandchildren, Ginny Kleiber, Danyelle (Matt) Mets, Lauren Kleiber, Darryl Johnson and David Harper; great grandchildren, Derek, Shayne, Presley, Chance, Riley and Mason; a sister, Nancy Ross of Nelsonville; a brother, Earl Ross of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Thelma’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time and burial will take place at a later date in the Broadway Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to be made to the Union County Humane Society.
