Wilda Eileen Styer

November 11, 1924 — January 6, 2025

Marysville

Wilda Eileen “Tillie” Styer passed away on January 6, 2025 at the age of 100. She was born on November 11, 1924, to Forrest Cox and Goldie Wright in Sidney, OH. After the death of her father, her family moved to Waverly, Ohio. She graduated from Waverly High School in 1942. She helped with the war effort by working in an ammunition factory and later worked at Omar Bakery. She was working in Columbus when she met her future husband on a blind date. On April 12, 1953, she married John L., “Roy”, Styer and joined him on his farm where they lived for 62 years, running a dairy and livestock farm. She was an avid gardener and always canned many quarts of produce for the winter. She fed many hay hands and visitors over the years and was a great cook even if she didn’t really like cooking. Many will remember her pies, homemade rolls and Tillie cookies. She was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church and helped many elderly neighbors in her younger years. She was a great mother to her two daughters, Marilyn McBeth of Green Camp and Carolyn (Gary) Gibeaut of Marysville as well as a proud grandmother of Michael McBeth of Bucyrus and Dr. Sarah (Pete)McBeth Bell of Pittsburgh, PA and great- grandmother to Henry and Sam Bell. She’ll be remembered for her hard work and her quick wit. She was blessed by many great friends and wonderful neighbors. She appreciated all their help and visits. She was predeceased by her parents and all her siblings, brothers, Addison “Jack”, Jim and Forrest Jr. Cox and sister, Juanita Murray, her husband, Roy, in 2015 and son- in- law, Bob McBeth, in 2024. Besides her immediate family, she is survived by her sister-in- law, Joan Cox and her nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 10 am-11am with a brief service directly following with Rev. Warren Goble officiating. The burial will then be held at Raymond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to ViaQuest Hospice or Memorial Mobile Meals. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the wonderful care and support provided by the nurses and staff of ViaQuest during Tillie’s final days. Mobile Meals and their volunteers also were key to keeping the couple independent for many years. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
