William F. Weber, 71, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Memorial Gables after many months of failing health.
Born April 15, 1949 in Dublin, he was the son of the late Louis F. and Willa N. (Stroble) Weber. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Gilbert and a brother, John "Butch" Weber.
A 1967 graduate of Dublin High School, he served in the United States Marines during Vietnam. He then went to work and retired from the Columbus Police Department.
He enjoyed collecting antiques, especially furniture and often stopped at garage sales and flea markets in search of those hidden treasures. Another favorite stop was Mrs. Renison's at 5:00 A.M. for coffee and donuts with the early morning group. He truly enjoyed coaching and supporting his girls in all of their activities, especially softball, volleyball and bowling.
Surviving are his daughters, Tara (Brad) Gilbert, Jody (Kelly) Reed and Audrey (Chris) Stowers all of Marysville; grandchildren, Emma Gilbert, Kaylee Clemans, Bryleigh Reed and Delaney, Eisley and Remmey Stowers; a brother, Robert Weber of Indian Lake; his former wife Holly (Hain) Weber of Marysville along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call from2-5 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Reverend Barry Scott will officiate graveside services at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Dublin Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Union County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions can be made to the Care Train or the Union County Military Family Support Group in care of the funeral home.
